Fire Resistant Conveyor Belts

UKRB fire-resistant conveyor belts with metallic insertions are ideal for conveying bulk materials across long distances. Flame-resistant properties mean they are suitable for use in explosive environments. They are efficient even when being used under very difficult conditions.

Primarily, they are used in the mining industry in quarries for transporting the raw materials from the excavators to the discharge site. They can also be used in other fields of industry – suitable for heating stations, power stations, waste incineration plants, steelworks and foundries, coal transportation, near flame sources, for flammable goods, and in the construction of tunnels.

The standards of fire retardancy and the methods used for testing conveyor belts are becoming increasingly stringent. Due to the potentially hazardous environments in which they are used, the repercussions of using a belt that is not as fire-resistant as it should be could be devastating.

Thanks to special additives and chemicals, the rubber in the top and bottom covers that protect the belt’s carcass and the rubber skim between the fabric plies of the carcass are engineered to resist fire.

When choosing a fire-retardant conveyor belt, it’s crucial to understand the actual level of fire retardancy required for your specific environment or application.
